Chess Champions
Participants compete in a chess tournament to demonstrate their strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and mastery of the game. Registration: Participants must register in advance as individuals. Each participant will be assigned a specific match time. Match Format: The tournament will follow a knockout format or Swiss system, depending on the number of participants. Each match will be played under standard chess rules, with a time control set (e.g., 10 minutes per player for blitz or longer for classical).Warm-Up: A brief warm-up period may be provided before the tournament begins. Scoring: Points will be awarded for match wins, draws, and overall performance based on the tournament format.

Rules
  • Gameplay: Participants must adhere to the standard rules of chess, including the touch-move rule. Each match will be monitored by a tournament director or a designated official.
  • Chess Clocks: All matches will use chess clocks. Players must press their clock after making a move.
  • Conduct: Participants are expected to maintain sportsmanship and respect towards opponents. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
  • The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.
  • In the event of any disputes that may arise during the competition, the decision made by the organizers will be final and binding.

  • Participants found under the influence of cigarettes, alcohol, or narcotics, or using unfair means, regardless of the event they are participating in or the institution they represent, will be prohibited from participating and asked to leave the premises of the organizing institute.
  • Once registered for an event, under no circumstances the registration fees shall be refunded to the participants in case of absence/ disqualification.
Judging Criteria
  • Match Wins: Each match win will earn the player a point. A draw will earn half a point.
  • Ranking: Players will be ranked based on total points accumulated throughout the tournament.
  • Tie-Breakers: In case of ties in points, tie-breakers will be determined by the results of direct encounters or additional rapid matches, as needed.
  • A tournament director will oversee the matches, ensuring adherence to rules and managing scoring.
Elimination Criteria
  • Any form of cheating, including using external aids or devices, will lead to immediate disqualification.
