Ping Pong Palooza - Table Tennis Competition
Participants compete in a table tennis tournament to showcase their skills and strategy, aiming to win matches and ultimately be crowned the champion. Participants must register in advance as individuals or in teams (if doubles are allowed). The competition will follow a knockout format, with each match played as the best of three games. Each game will be played to 11 points, and players must win by at least 2 points. A brief warm-up period will be provided before each match. Winners will advance to the next round until a champion is determined.

Rules
  • Equipment: Players must bring their own paddles. Balls and tables will be provided by the organizers.
  • Scoring System: Matches will use the rally scoring system, where points can be scored by either player regardless of who serves.
  • Service Rules: Players must serve behind the end line, and the ball must first bounce on their side before crossing over to the opponent’s side.
  • Conduct: Players are expected to maintain sportsmanship. Disruptive behavior, unsportsmanlike conduct, or cheating will lead to disqualification.
  • Disputes: Any disputes regarding points or rules must be raised immediately to the umpire, whose decision will be final.
  • The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.
  • In the event of any disputes that may arise during the competition, the decision made by the organizers will be final and binding.
  • Participants found under the influence of cigarettes, alcohol, or narcotics, or using unfair means, regardless of the event they are participating in or the institution they represent, will be prohibited from participating and asked to leave the premises of the organizing institute.
  • Once registered for an event, under no circumstances the registration fees shall be refunded to the participants in case of absence/ disqualification.
Judging Criteria
  • Match Wins: The primary criterion for advancing in the tournament is the number of matches won.
  • Performance Evaluation: While there are no formal scoring criteria beyond match wins, judges may observe performance quality and sportsmanship throughout the event.
  • A referee will oversee the matches, ensure adherence to rules, and resolve any disputes.
